David Ritchie

Editor’s Note: David Ritchie is our hard-working Competition Secretary who organises all of the internal and external competition entries despite the fact that he has had a demanding job.  He is now retired. By adopting the use of the Photoentry online competition entry platform and Dicentra software he has produced an increase in competition entries, improved PDI presentation and enhanced the information available on competition results.  In addition, he oversees any changes to the club competition rules. He represents the club at the Glasgow District Photographic Union (GDPU).

David is also a dedicated photographer who takes photographs when many of us are warmly wrapped up at home.  As you will see in the galleries below he takes spectacular images at dawn and dusk of landscapes, cityscapes and coastal scenes.  He has a fondness for transportation and takes very interesting pictures of planes, trains and ships.

He has probably made more images publically available online than any other club member. I warmly recommend you check out his Flickr Albums page to see the range of his work since the galleries below only represent about 0.8% of his present public output.

David’s son Gavin Ritchie is a former member of the club and is now a professional photographer based in Perthshire.
