Since taking up photography 3 years ago I have tried most of the various genres, eventually finding street photography to my type of shooting; from the hip, quick unplanned moments using techniques of ‘straight photography’ in that it shows a pure vision of something like mirror images of society, displaying unmanipulated scenes, with usually unaware subjects. This type of photography, in my view, tends to be ironic and can be distanced from its subject matter, and often concentrates on a single human moment. Coupled to this, whilst telling the story of its people, cityscapes photography can connect its architecture and its culture enabling you to fully understand and appreciate a city.
