Our auction night was held on the 15th April. A big thanks you to Stephen, Elaine and Fraser for both their preparation and execution of the event. A special thanks go to all who contributed equipment and to all members who made a purchase on the evening.
Congratulations go to George Robertson who took all 3 podium places at the recent Robert Simpson Trophy competition. His winning picture was Reflections On The Display Case In 2nd place was Ossains Hall and in 3rd place was Ragged Victorian. All 3 images can be viewed in the Competitions Section – Previous Winner Galleries – 2024/5 – Robert Simpson Trophy.
The above competition is now open for entries. Images can be of any subject but there will be special categories for ‘Hidden Milngavie’ and entrants under 18. The competition is open for both camera and phone pictures. You can enter up to 4 high resolution images that have been taken in the last year, black & white or colour, but each no bigger than 10Mb.Your submission should include image title, your name, contact No, and age if under 18. This meeting involved our very own Elaine Prior and Andy Hamilton. Elaine presented on her time within the Americas National Parks whilst Andy spoke about his adventures in Northern Scotland and the Outer Hebrides.
Isobel is our latest member to submit a personal gallery to the website. Isobel joined the club in 2023 and won 1st place in the first DPI competition of the 2023/4 season. Isobel mainly works with a Nikon mirrorless camera and specialises in wildlife, landscapes and travel photography. Isobel’s images can be accessed in the Galleries section or here
The 2025 International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight will take place above Ayr seafront on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September. It has already been confirmed that the Red Arrows will perform on both days
Kenny created a Members Profile earlier in the season. However due to a software update malfunctioning, the link to his profile was broken, but not recorded. Kenny’s link in the Members Area has now been restored and can be viewed in the Gallery of Members. Kenny is a Sony user and lists macro, extreme macro and wildlife amongst his photographic interests.
