David Muir has received an Expert Shortlisting in the 1st round of the 2026 Amateur Photography of the Year Competition. His image ‘May Your God Go With You‘ received a shortlisting in the recently completed ‘Street’ round. This follows on from his similar shortlisting ‘Lofoten Sunrise’ in the final round of the 2025 competition. Well done again David. This year’s competition received over 90 entries and a special thanks go to Milngavie Week members Wilson Blakey and judge Eleanor Barron and also to MBCC Committee members David, Derek and Malcolm, for making this event such a success. Amateur Photographer of the Year (APOY) is the UK’s most prestigious photography competition for amateur photographers. The competition has 10 rounds, each with a different theme. The themes for the 2026 competition will be: Street, Black & White, Animal Kingdom, Celebrating Colour, Architecture, People & Portraits, Landscapes, Close-up & Macro, Night & Low Light, and Open (anything goes!).
