On the 3rd our very own Ian Tully will give a 2 part lecture to the Club. Part 1 – Beyond the Literal. What part does creativity play in our photography. A discussion on moving from the ‘record shot’ to a more interpretive approach. Part 2 – Sinking In Iceland. A story of getting trapped in the Icelandic highlands in winter.
Our 1st Competition of the season took place at the Club on 20th October 2026. Tuesday 20th October heralded our 1st League Competition of the 2026/7 season. Our judge for the evening was Brian Cathie and results will appear shortly.

On the 13th our very own Ian Carbarns presents Chasing The Eclipse – What could possibly go Wrong detailing his journey to capture the 2026 eclipse.
These latest short listings were achieved in the recent Architecture round of APOY 2026. Denis’s 2 short listings were 61 Arches and Power, David’s 2 were Cloisters and Marina Sands At Night whilst George’s short listing was Museum of Liverpool. Well done again in this competition and a shout out to Denis who appears in the short listings for the first time. On the 6th October we enjoyed Paul MacDougall’s 3rd visit to the club. Paul has MBCC members as clients for his excellent workshops, tours and safari trips.
