2026 SPF Portfolio Awards

MBCC achieved a very creditable recognition at the 2026 Awards. We came 14th equal in the Digital Portfolio, 7th equal in the Colour Print Portfolio and a great 2nd place in the Mono Print Portfolio. Very well done to all members who took part. To cap it off Norma McNab was awarded a Silver Medal for Best Landscape which can be viewed in the National Recognition section and also here

2026 World Pipe Band Championships

On Saturday 15th August Denis Taylor, Ian Watt and Ian Mitchell attended the WPB Championships in Glasgow. A selection of their images from the day are available in the Galleries section and also here.

New Season Commences Tuesday 15th September

Its a welcome back to another new season commencing Tuesday 15th September at 7.15 at the Milngavie Community Centre. This meeting focuses around the introduction of our new members with committee members talking about their roles within the Club – eg Competitions, Website, Syllabus, Finance and Club Outings, Role on the new season!

Quadruple Shortlisting In Round 2 Of APOY 2026

A huge congratulations to David Muir and George Robertson who shared 4 Short listings in the Black & White Round of the 2026 Amateur Photographer Of The Year Competition. David had 3 short listings with Lighting The Void, Wemyss Bay Railway Station (multiple exposure) and Bright Spark (composite) whilst George landed a short listing with Labyrinth. David Starts New APOY Season Just Like His Finish To Last Season

David Muir has received an Expert Shortlisting in the 1st round of the 2026 Amateur Photography of the Year Competition. His image ‘May Your God Go With You‘ received a shortlisting in the recently completed ‘Street’ round. This follows on from his similar shortlisting ‘Lofoten Sunrise’ in the final round of the 2025 competition. Well done again David. 2026 Milngavie Week Photography Competition

This year’s competition received over 90 entries and a special thanks go to Milngavie Week members Wilson Blakey and judge Eleanor Barron and also to MBCC Committee members David, Derek and Malcolm, for making this event such a success. Prints of the 5 shortlisted winning images will shortly be  on display in Tesco Milngavie.
