The FIAP, translated into English as the International Federation of Photographic Art is an international organisation that unites national photographic associations in 91 countries and represents around 1 million photographers. FIAP defines the rules and definitions for our competitive photography in Scotland and further afield. They hold salons in many different countries and photographers are encouraged to enter and gain acceptances and awards that that will be counted towards membership. Congratulations to Dik MacFarlane for winning the Digital Section of the Annual Competition with his panelled image titled Going! Going! Gone! The image and overall results are now posted in the Competitions Section and here.

Andy is our latest member to submit a personal gallery to the website. Andy joined the club in 2021 and is a Nikon user. His images can be accessed in the Galleries section or here
This competition was hosted by the PAGB in the latter half of 2024 and George’s image has now been released. Titled ‘Trango Towers’ his image was taken whilst leading an expedition in Northern Pakistan. Trango Towers will feature in an exhibition that will now tour the UK and George’s award is the first item in the National Recognition Section of our website – 2025.
Congratulations this evening go to George Robertson (Trapezium) for winning the Print Section and to Dik MacFarlane (Going, Going, Gone!) for winning the PDI Section. Full results and images are now posted in the Competitions Section and can also be viewed here.
On the 29th we were entertained by Guest Speaker Fiona Brimms (PAGB) whose topic was Journey to India
Our meeting at the club on the 25th was our Annual Competition when we welcomed Clive Watkins as our guest judge on the evening.
Our auction night was held on the 15th April. A big thanks you to Stephen, Elaine and Fraser for both their preparation and execution of the event. A special thanks go to all who contributed equipment and to all members who made a purchase on the evening.
