October 9th  Members Mini Presentations – Members will give some short presentations of their work.
1st Competition Hand-In

October 16th “The Art of Metamorphism” – Speaker Andrea Hargreaves
Andrea will start the talk giving a brief outline of how she started in photography
journey and how going for Photographic distinctions shaped her workflow into what it
is today. The Art of Metamorphosis shows how her images transform from photoshoot
to finished print or PDI featuring how she created her Mermaid series. There will also
be a print display during the tea break.

October 23th  1st Club Competition– Judge: Gordon McCann. 

October 30th  “From Amateur to Pro – A Photographic Journey” – Speaker Nadin Dunnigan. Nadin will present photographs from being an amateur photographer 18 years ago through to becoming a professional, with photographs through all the stages along with examples of here current work.

November 2018

November 6th “An Academic Travels” – Speaker Stephen Phillips
Stephen will give a talk from his travels around the world.

November 13th  “My Passion for Photography” – Speaker Christopher Bonnington. Christopher’s talk will be predominantly landscapes but with a few people based prints as well. The first half will be a mix of digital images including his recent drone photography followed by prints for the second half including his successful DPAGB panel.

November 20th  “Spain – Where Raptors Soar” and “Ecuador and Nicaragua – Glimpse Through The Cloud Forest – Speaker Mark Caunt. Mark returns to the club with some more of his excellent wildlife photography from Spain and Central America

November 27th  “Photographing Scotland” – Speaker Dougie Cunningham
Dougie got involved in photography through his “mild camping and kayaking
obsession”. He’s a regular contributor to “The Great Scottish Outdoors” magazine, and
has also appeared on BBC’s “The One Show”.

December 4th  SPF Portfolio, A chance to see the recent print work of SPF clubs. An evening of informal comment.

January 2019

January 8th “Scotland’s Sub-Arctic Landscape  Speaker – Club member Norman McNab  The presentation will take viewers from Ben Lomond to Ben Hope across Scotland’s mountains. The majority of the images are in winter and very few are taken at road level so no pictures of Loch ah Achlaise and the Black Mount mountains or The Buachaille from the A82.  The talk will provide a higher altitude perspective of Scotland’s landscape, familiar to hill walkers that is probably foreign to car bound tourists.

January 29th  3rd Club Competition – Judges: Doug Hamilton and Sue Hill
Doug and Sue met at Edinburgh Photographic Society nearly 40 years ago, and have
been judging competitions for over 30 years. Learn more about these judges here.

April 2019

April 2nd  Members Exhibition Night. Bring along some prints to exhibit. They can be of any size and either mounted or unmounted. If you wish, you will be given the opportunity to provide a short oral commentary. However, if you feel uncomfortable about speaking or wish the print to be exhibited without commentary, you will not have to say anything. The committee would particularly like to encourage members who do not enter competitions to exhibit their work.

April 9th “Extreme Scotland a photographic journey through Scotlands’ adventure sports” –  by Nadir Khan  This is a multimedia presentation showing Nadir’s journey to photograph Scottish adventure sports resulting in the publication of the book ‘Extreme Scotland’http://www.nadirkhan.co.uk/

April 16th  Interclub Competition with Kirkintilloch in Milngavie – Judge: Clive Watkins
Clive describes himself as a photographic “Jack of all trades”, but with a particular

April 23th  Annual Competition – Judge: Hunter Kennedy.  Hunter is a frequent visitor to the club, and is well regarded for his photography and
judging skills. Hunter is presently  the Immediate Past President of the SPF and a member of Carluke Camera Club. See his Club Gallery
