With votes now in, our meeting on the 17th sees the conclusion of the 2026 Robert Simpson Trophy, this year for digital images only. Tuesday 10th March 2026

On the 10th we welcomed guest speaker Don Stewart from Kirkintilloch CC. His topic for the evening was Living, Working & Photography in Antarctica. Don spent 5 years of his working life as a polar guide for the British Antarctic Survey and his excellent lecture focussed mainly on his most recent visit.

Tuesday 3rd March 2026

On the 3rd March we enjoyed 2 international based presentations from our very own David Muir and Ian Watt. David’s topic was Travels around Costa Rica capturing some of the sights and wildlife whilst Ian spoke about his photographic visits to car plants and motor museums across Europe and the U.S.

Amanda and Iain Join the Club

We are delighted to welcome Amanda and Iain Kennedy to MBCC. Whilst they have been guests at our meetings in recent weeks they officially joined at the end of February. David Lands Another Expert Shortlisting In APOY 2025

A big congratulations goes to David Muir. David has just gained another personal Expert Shortlisting in the final (open) round of APOY 2025 with his image Lofoten Sunrise. This is the final of an incredible 14 expert shortlistings accumulated by David, George Robertson, Neil MacGregor and Lynne Watson over the entire 2025 competition. George Continues His International Progress Via The FIAP

George Robertson’s journey to the next level in the FIAP (Federation International of Photographic Art) award scheme is continuing in 2026 with some great results. After gaining his AFAIP award in August 2025, to progress to the next level requires photographers achieving 200 acceptances in International Salons in at least 20 different countries with a minimum of 40 different images.  During the first 6 weeks of this year his images have been entered in salons in eight different countries and have achieved 147 … Read more

As members will know MBCC is delighted to be the chosen partner of Friends of Milngavie Reservoir for their forthcoming Flow and Destination Exhibition which is inclusive of a unique photographic exhibition of images from MBCC members. 2026 Robert Simpson Trophy

As mentioned at our Club Meeting on the 17th Lynne Watson has agreed to run this year’s competition on Tuesday 17th March in the temporary absence of David. This will be along a  new format from previous years with all voting taking place prior to the event. Our Annual Club Competition V Hub Singer tool place at our club in Milngavie on the 24th. We would like to thank judge Rob Davis for hid adjudication and we were delighted to take the trophy back after a hard fought contest.
