On the 14th we had our annual Black & White Competition which was expertly adjudicated by Judge Dr David Sadler.
Tuesday 7th January is not only our first meeting of the New Year but also the deadline date for the above competition. Photoentry is open and ready for all your entries!
Congratulations go to George Robertson for winning ‘Best Male Portrait Taken On A Location Event 2024. This is a storey telling image of Paul as a grumpy RAF officer on the Masters of the Air Session Day at Hangar42 in Blackpool last September. This is the second year running that George has won this particular award. See also the National Recognition Section.
Our first meeting of the New Year was a look at some of the best GDPU, SPF and PAGB images of 2024. Guest Speaker Jonathan Genevaux who was due on the 7th will now present on Waterscapes on Tuesday 1st April.
Tuesday 17th December was the final hand in date for all entries in both the digital & print competitions. All hand in dates for the season are in the Competitions Section of the website
Our final meeting of 2024 was a Members Social Evening at the Club. As per last year we were enlightened by another Derek Manson quiz. Congratulations go to Team 1 who won a 3 week photographic safari to Kenya leaving on the 31st April next year. Thanks to all Members who brought with them suitable non alcoholic refreshments, home baking, nibbles, biscuits etc.
Lynne Watson has been awarded her Credit Photographic Alliance Great Britain (CPAGB). As part of her assessment, Lynne submitted a panel of 10 images which were judged by a panel of 6 judges earlier in the year. See also the National Recognition section of the website.
New member proactivity and enthusiasm continues at pace. Fraser, who already has a Member Profile, has now also submitted a New Gallery.
On Tuesday 10th our very own Ian Watt presented on his trip across the globe to Japan earlier this year. This was an excellent photographic capture of the landmarks, culture, geography and history of the country. Members were in disbelief that so much knowledge had been captured and portrayed after only one visit!
