Results of 1st League Competition

Our 1st Competition of the season took place at the Club on 20th October 2026. Tuesday 20th October 2026

Tuesday 20th October heralded our 1st League Competition of the 2026/7 season. Our judge for the evening was Brian Cathie and results will appear shortly.

Shout Out For George Robertson

Well done to George for taking the time to update his Member Profile. George is the 2nd member this season to do so. At this early stage in the season we encourage all members to either create or update Member Profiles or Member Galleries. Just contact Jack to do so.

Billy Is New Member Number 7

Having previously welcomed our 6 new members we now welcome Billy Cullen who joined us last week. We look forward to seeing Billy at the club soon.

5 APOY Short listings for Denis George and David Muir

These latest short listings were achieved in the recent Architecture round of APOY 2026. Denis’s 2 short listings were 61 Arches and Power, David’s 2 were Cloisters and Marina Sands At Night whilst George’s short listing was Museum of Liverpool. Well done again in this competition and a shout out to Denis who appears in the short listings for the first time. Shout Out For Ian Tully

Congratulations to Ian Tully for taking the time to update his Members Profile which can be viewed in the Members Section – Gallery Of Members. With the season not long started we encourage all members to either create or edit Members Profiles or Galleries. Jack is always at hand to create and assist in any way. Ian is also hopeful of creating a new image gallery in the coming weeks. Well done Ian !

Tuesday 6th October 2026

On the 6th October we enjoyed  Paul MacDougall’s 3rd visit to the club. Paul has MBCC members as clients for his excellent workshops, tours and safari trips. His topic for the evening was The Light and the Darkness – Using Exposure Compensation highlighting the dramatic effects achievable with exposure changes in given wildlife environments.    https://www.mcdougallphotographic.co.uk

APOY Hat Trick For David, Neil and George

In the Animal Kingdom round of APOY26 David Muir, Neil MacGregor and George Robertson each landed 2 shortlistings in the competition. David’s 2 images were Iguana and Chimp, Neil’s were On The Prowl and The Passover while George’s images were Great Grey Owl In Flight and Goshawk Focused On Prey. ……….and just to cap it off David had his chimp image feature in a recent edition of Amateur Photographer. The images can be viewed in the National Recognition section and also here.
