Neil Entertains With Judging Symposium

On Tuesday 11th March Neil MacGregor hosted an entertaining evening as he displayed a portfolio of previously judged images from competitions around the country. It was our collective task to judge these images and it was something of an eye opener to find that our assessments did not exactly align with those of ‘The Professionals’. Tuesday 4th March 2025

On the 4th March we were entertained by our own John Hannah and David Ritchie. John’s theme was  ’20 Wildlife Locations around Glasgow’  His talk including maps, hints and tips and most importantly images of the species to be found at each location. David’s presentation covered a number of aspects including his career in the police, city centre night/wild life together with a journey through trains, planes and automobiles.

Robert Simpson Trophy – Not long now!

This year’s Robert Simpson Trophy is for digital images only and takes place at the Club on Tuesday 18th March. Images need to be submitted via Photoentry no later than Tuesday 11th March. Photoentry is now open for the event.

New Galleries Sub Section Added

Today saw the addition of a new sub section in Galleries called Members Travel Logs. Its purpose is to capture images/video from members who have recently presented to the Club on international related themes. The first and most recent Travel Log belongs to Diane Smillie, posted as a record of her Mongolian adventures in the autumn of 2024. We will be encouraging other members who have similarly presented at the Club in recent times to come forward with similar galleries.

MBCC Launch New Media Channel

Ahead of a major revamp of our video content and to streamline both Member’s media and external content we have established today MBCC Media. Further details to follow shortly

Tuesday 25th February 2025

Our annual competition against Hub Singer took place in Clydebank on Tuesday 25th February. Hub Singer is located at The Hub Community Education Centre, 405 Kilbowie Road , Clydebank, G81 2TX. We actively encourage as many members as possible to go along and encourage MBCC on the evening. Hub Singer are excellent hosts and we have faired well in this competition in recent times

This was a Members Night on the 18th. We enjoyed excellent and varied presentations on the night from Stephen Phillips, Derek Manson, Peter Grant and Kenny Allan. I

Mongolian Talk Links from Diane

Tuesday 11th February – Footnote

On the 11th February we were enthralled by an international presentation from our very own Diane Smillie. The theme of the evening was Exploring Mongolia – Eagle Festivals, Reindeer herders and Nomadic families. A video clip of Diane’s expedition will appear on the website shortly.

George into Masters of Print Salon des Refuses Competition

George has recently gained acceptance into this competition held this year by the PAGB. The competition is followed by an exhibition which tours throughout the UK. George’s image titled ‘Trango Towers’ was taken whilst leading an expedition in Northern Pakistan. Once George’s image is made public it will feature as our first item in the 2025 National Recognition section of the website. Well done George, again!
