New member proactivity and enthusiasm continues at pace. Fraser, who already has a Member Profile, has now also submitted a New Gallery.

On Tuesday 10th our very own Ian Watt presented on his trip across the globe to Japan earlier this year. This was an excellent photographic capture of the landmarks, culture, geography and history of the country. Members were in disbelief that so much knowledge had been captured and portrayed after only one visit!

On the 3rd a selection of members attaining 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Highly commended and Commended in recent competitions projected their images/prints and talked us through how they were composed. Speakers included Norman McNab, Neil MacGregor, Fiona Bryden, George Robertson, Stephen Phillips, Dik McFarlane, Peter Grant and Kenny Allan

A big ‘shout out’ to our latest new member Denis Taylor. As his membership payment was being cleared Denis is already on the website with both an Image Gallery and a Member Profile. Well done Denis! Great to see such enthusiasm and pro-activity. 🙂 🙂 🙂

The Scottish Photographic Federation are currently campaigning for new speakers and judges as many have retired from the local circuit whilst existing judges and speakers are over stretched. In respect of new speakers an excellent entry point to develop your presentation skills is of course at MBCC and thereafter you would be welcomed at other venues. For instance we have 2023 new member talking to us about Japan in December with longer term member Diane Smillie talking to us in February about Mongolia. … Read more

……………No not the snooker player!!! We are delighted to welcome Denis as our latest new member to MBCC. Denis joined just a few days ago and is already up and running in respect of registration, including access to the Members Section of the website. Unfortunately he will be unable to join us on the 26th but we look forward to meeting him shortly thereafter

George Robertson has been crowned Mountain Photographer of the Year 2024 by Trail Magazine. Judges reviews included Nadir Khan – ‘ A beautiful moment in the mountains captured. Experiences like these are what memories are made for’  Tom Bailey – ‘Moments don’t get much more special than this. Truly wonderful stuff’ .
