Well done to David for having the above image published in AP. A Drop Off Holly was submitted as part of the Amateur Photographer of the Year Competition – Close Up category. The judge commented “A pin-sharp droplet hanging off the edge of a translucent leaf with an added dose of depth, thanks to the orange orb in the background, results in an image where technical ability and creativity combine to great effect.” See National Recognition for full image and further details

IPA ‘Honourable Mention’ for Denis Taylor

Congratulations to Denis for receiving an ‘Honourable Mention‘ at the International Photography Awards. Within the Wildlife Category, he narrowly missed out on a top 3 placement with his elephant herd image ‘Family’. Further details are available in the National Recognition Section of the website.

George Robertson Gains 1 of 10 2025 Scottish FIAP Distinctions

Congratulations to George for gaining 1 of 10 FIAP distinctions and only 1 of 5 to attain a AFIAP distinction in 2025. The distinction “Artist FIAP” (AFIAP) is the first artistic distinction that can be obtained. It is awarded to photographic artists whose artistic qualities, technique and production of work have been acknowledged through their participation in international salons under FIAP Patronage. Yongli (Lily) Zhang – 1st New Member Profile for 2025/6

Not only do we welcome Lily to the Club but congratulate her in creating the first Member Profile for the 2025/6 season. Lily’s primary source of photography is her IPhone capturing mainly nature, flower, landscape and travel images. Out with photography her interests include cooking, gardening, walking and reading. Our Syllabus Secretary Elaine Prior has once again created a packed programme for the forthcoming season with a wide range of quality speakers and presenters interspersed with club competitions, inter-club competitions and members social evenings. 2025 Milngavie Week Photographic Competition – Results

This year’s competition received just under 100 entries and a special thanks go to all Milngavie Week and MBCC Committee Members, together with Wilson Blakey and judge Eleanor Barron, for making this event such a success. Prints of the 10 shortlisted images will shortly be displayed in Tesco Milngavie. Recognition For Margaret’s Exceptional Cyanotype Skills

Margaret Campbell’s exception skills in Cyanotype printing have been recognised by the Royal Photographic Society. Margaret and her work are featured in a 4 page article in the May edition of the RPS’s Creative Eye magazine. 2 of Margaret’s images, Cyanotype Acer and Cyanotype On Cotton appear in the National Recognition Section
