George Robertson wins the April 2024 round of N Photo’s Photographer of the Year Competition

This competition encompasses the search for the World’s Best Nikon Photographer of 2024. George’s winning image was Girl In The Window. The judges commented that the image was bursting with character. “The little girl is looking out of the window of a tram. We like how the condensation and raindrops are used to funnel the viewer towards her eyes, as well as the fun and very natural pose of her clutching her teddy. The soft light prevents harsh shadows across the face, too. Overall, this a charming portrait”.

This picture and further details of the competition can be found in the April 2024 edition of Nikon’s N Photo magazine Page 76.

Recognition for George at the Seventh Masters of Print – PAGB Print Competition

This year George Robertson entered an image into the above competition and was delighted to discover it had been accepted. The Masters of Print is an annual UK wide competition organised by the Photographic Alliance of GB (PAGB). The purpose of the competition is to encourage photographic prints of the highest quality for a prestigious Print Exhibition, celebrating the best of PAGB Photography for the Year.

The accepted image (below) was titled “A moments Reflection”

A total of 1385 images were entered and judging took place in Dec 2023 by a team of three judges. Acceptance is restricted to just 60 prints from 60 different photographers. This makes an Acceptance particularly difficult to achieve – Well done George!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

The accepted prints will be displayed in public exhibitions opening on Saturday 3rd Feb in St Martins in the Bull Ring, Birmingham and then goes on tour around the UK till late Nov 2024. The images will also be on display at The Photography Show at the NEC during March.
