An evening when new and current members will have the opportunity to have their portrait taken to be added to or updated on the website. It will also be an evening of socialising and a chance to learn new techniques in portrait photography.

Lecture: ‘The Neglected – Street Children of Ukraine’ & ‘The 13th Floor’
Speaker: David Gillanders

David was born and educated in Glasgow, Scotland where his first interest in photography arose at the age of 14 through a love of boxing. He has since then produced a wonderful variety of media including film and documentaries.

Lecture: ‘Let’s Talk Photography’
Speaker: Alan Cameron, MSPC

Alan was first introduced to “serious” photography when he borrowed his fathers 20yr old Agfa 35mm camera and when he had the transparencies developed, he was immediately hooked on photography. He has spent the last 30yrs or so since trying to capture that all elusive perfect picture.

Tonight, Alan, a member of Kirkintilloch Camera Club, will give an informal discussion on his approach to photography, with prints & digital projected images.

Speaker: Geo Sneddon

Geo has been a professional product photographer for 8 years however, he has been in the darkroom since he was 6 years old. He has had the privilege to help run a number of studios, work for agencies and his past client base has been the likes of M&S, Greggs, Waitrose, BBC Food and Number 1 Magazine and he is also the Canon Representative for Scotland.

Margaret is a member of Milngavie and Bearsden Camera Club, the Scottish Photographic Circle and an Associate member of The Royal Photographic Society. Tonight she will be presenting some of her projects from recent years

Lecture: ‘Prints Past and Present’
Speaker: Hunter Kennedy, MPAGB,EFIAP,ARPS

Hunter has been a member of Carluke CC for over 30 years but has taken his photography seriously since 2000 and by 2009 had achieved both EFIAP and MPAGB. He is a regular supporter of International Salons and is in demand in the UK as a lecturer and judge.

Tonight, Hunter will bring along a selection of colour and mono prints dating from the darkroom to present digital.

Kirk Norbury is an English landscape & portrait photographer based in Ayrshire, Scotland. As well as photographing landscapes he also does a lot of time-lapse photography which involves taking single images of a scene and turn them into a video.

Lecture: ‘Eric Watts’ Glasgow’
Speaker: Tom Doherty, CPAGB

Since 2012, Tom, Exhibition secretary from QPCC, has been working as a volunteer to catalogue the Glasgow Photography collection of Eric Watt – one of Queen’s Park CC distinguished former members, who bequeathed several thousand photographs of social and historical importance to the City of Glasgow. Tonight, Tom is coming to the club to present his latest talk ‘Eric Watt’s Glasgow’ which covers Eric’s observational photos of Glasgow and its people for about 40 years from the mid-60s on.

Speaker: Barbara Sellers, LRPS

Barbara will present images of the Isle of Iona – a personal perspective. Imagery includes the intimate landscape as well as the bigger view of an island in its differing moods. Drawing on a year long project of photographing the island every month for 12 consecutive months. Lecture to include the challenges of the project and how the photography developed and changed in response.

Speaker: Marc De Ridder

Throughout the ages, myths and story telling has been at the heart of communicating the experiences of explorers and adventures travelling to foreign cultures. Illustrated with my own travel photography, I will show how elements of story telling can be incorporated into your stills photography to make your images more engaging and compelling.

Members’ Lecture: ‘From Phone Camera to Microscope Lens’
Speaker: Steve Campbell

Steve will show how different types of cameras and various lenses can be used in close up photography. He will illustrate the use of each camera in more conventional photography and explain how they can be adapted for taking close ups, as well as the use of microscope lenses, both on and off of the microscope, starting with the ‘smart’ phone. His main focus will be on insects and flowers, featuring within the size range 5 cm to 1/5,000 of a millimetre. Steve will also show some 3D macro anaglyphs, which the audience will view with red-cyan filter spectacles that will be provided.

Terry is a commercial photographer specialising in a number of genres including:

Architectural since 2006, and specialise in supplying images from initial construction through to finished projects, and anywhere in between. My client base is in The UK and Middle East.

Sports – suppling sports images to a number of UK sports press agencies serving national and international press.

People – photographing people, singularly, in groups, whether it be in social or commercial environments.

 Mark was born in East Yorkshire, England but has lived in Angus, Scotland for nearly 20 years. He has had many photographs published in various magazines, newspapers and books, including the Cornell Lab of Ornithology magazine “All About Birds”, and regularly contributes to magazines “Birdwatch”, “Birdwatching” & “British Birds” to name but a few.
